1994: Rud Leunissen from Munstergeleen, NL, visits an orphanage in Dorohoi, Romania. He meets Geta Clicinschi, a 19-year-old orphan girl, who is a good student. Because of her age she is obliged to leave the orphanage....... What to do next?

Her dearest wish is to study at the university. Unfortunately, that is only a dream. She herself has no money and there is no one to support her.

Her problem stays in Rud’s mind. Back in the Netherlands, he talks about Geta with friends and acquaintances. They decide to sponsor her during her studies! In addition, they set up a fund for Geta and her companions: “STICHTING HULPFONDS JONGEREN ROEMENIË” (SUPPORT FUND YOUNGSTERS ROMANIA).

2011: Meanwhile, the foundation has supported over 200 students. During those years within the board the awareness grew, that not only the foundation should support talented Romanian students. After a long administrative and bureaucratic way we now have a partner organization with the same goal in Romania : ASOCIATIA ROMANO - OLANDEZA PENTRU AJUTORAREA TINERILOR IN ROMANIA . President is the in Botosani and wide surroundings well-known orthopedist, Dr. Malancea . On the board of the Asociatia our foundation is represented by two board members. During our annual visit a meeting is always planned with our partner organization.

The Romanian tax system allows each tax payer to use 2% of their payroll taxes for a good. For this purpose Form 230 needs to be completed. The Asociatia is now in search of the students, sponsored by the Foundation in the past, to convince them to complete this Form 230 in favour of the Asociatia. From 2011, several alumni have already complied this request.
